(Ripley County, IN) – The Ripley County Sheriff’s Office will assist in the transfer of the remains of a U.S. Navy Corpsman from Osgood this evening.

24-year-old Joshua Arquiza died unexpectedly on July 27 in Bremerton, Washington where he was stationed.

Sheriff Rob Bradley says the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre in Madison asked the Sheriff’s Office to assist with the escort.

Bradley says deputies will begin the escort of Arquiza’s remains on U.S. 50 at the Ripley/Dearborn County line, sometime between 6:30 and 8:00 tonight.

The escort will go through Versailles, and proceed south on U.S. 421 to the Jefferson County line.

Corpsman Arquiza will be laid to rest in Madison next week.

First responders from all over Ripley County are expected to line the procession route.

The public is invited to do so as well but you’re asked to use caution, not park on the roads along the route, and stay off roadways.
