Lawrenceburg, IN — Like many, Lawrenceburg Public Library District Public Services Team Leader April Nudds had to get creative this year to participate in the annual bake sale held by the Friends of the Lawrenceburg Public Library District.

Due to safety concerns surrounding COVID-19, both the bake sale and many Winter Wonderland activities were canceled at the library district.

Nudds asked library staff members to hold an in-house bake sale this year to raise money for the Friends organization. Each year the non-profit makes donations to the library and its programs. The bake sale raised over $584. Friends of the Library president Susan Ray said, “The effort by employees to raise money for the organization shows their commitment to the community in action.”

The total donation, however, doubled to a total of over $1,169 dollars when the money raised was matched by the Lawrenceburg Public Library Services and Resources Foundation due to the efforts of library district director Barbara Bonney and business manager Michelle Bunte.
