Local jobless rates either drop slightly or remain the same in November

Southeastern IN — Unemployment rates in Southeastern Indiana counties either dropped slightly or stayed the same in November.

The Indiana Department of Workforce Development says jobless rates in Ripley and Decatur counties were down from the month before.

Ripley County checked in at 2.8 percent, which was down one-tenth of a percent from October, while Decatur County had the lowest unemployment rate in the area at 2.3 percent – down from 2.4 the month before.

Franklin County was steady in November at 2.4 percent while Dearborn County stayed at 2.5 percent.

All four local counties were below the state average of 3 percent.
