Oldenburg, IN—

WBRI received this official statement from Diane H. Laake, President of Oldenburg Academy

“Oldenburg Academy of the Immaculate Conception was notified by the Hamilton County (OH) Sheriff’s Office that Brian Hronek has been arrested and charged with Pandering Obscenity Involving a Minor. We were informed of their investigation last week and immediately took steps to remove him from any contact with our students.  Mr. Hronek’s employment as girls’ soccer coach has been terminated. The officers involved in the investigation have assured us that no students of the Academy were involved in any of their findings. Nothing is more important than the safety of our students.”

Original Story:

A local girls’ soccer coach is now being held in Hamilton County Jail for allegations of child pornography, specifically, 10 counts of alleged possession of child pornography.

Brian Hronek, 48, Head Coach of the Girls Varsity soccer team at Oldenburg Academy is also listed as coach with the 2019-2020 Cincinnati West Soccer Club, a youth soccer club that competes in the Cincinnati United Soccer League.

The club immediately relieved Hronek of his duties upon learning of the investigation.  No official word from Oldenburg Academy as they are out on Fall Break.

According to Prosecutor David Wood, Hronek was sharing pictures with other people on a file-sharing program at home.  The court documents describe ten different pieces of obscene material in Hronek’s possession prior to his arrest, including videos and pictures of children engaged in sexual acts with adults. The children range in age from 12 years to seven months old.

During the bond hearing, the judge stated, “These are some of the worst allegations I’ve ever seen in the 20-something years I’ve been doing this. It’s unreal,”

Hronek’s bond was set Thursday morning at $1 million, or $100,000 for each count of possessing child pornography.
