Linda Marie “Maria” Ruposky Ploeger, 58, of Greensburg, Indiana, passed away peacefully at her home on August 13, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on September 22, 1965, in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of Andrew and Dorothea (Martell) Ruposky.
A proud graduate of Lincoln High School in 1984, Linda later pursued her passion for serving others by taking courses to become a Pharmacy Technician.
Linda’s vibrant spirit shone through in her many hobbies, including her unwavering support of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Notre Dame football teams, as well as her love for camping and boating. Most importantly, she treasured the time spent with her grandchildren, who were the light of her life.
Linda is survived by her loving husband, Richard Ploeger; her father, Andrew Ruposky; her sister, Tina Sourbeer; and her cherished children, Andrew Meyer (Mary Palmer), Nicole Meyer, Clayton Meyer, and stepdaughter, Brandi Ploeger. She took great joy in her role as a grandmother to Faith Thompson, Charlie Thompson, Gage Meyer, Rebel Grubbs, Ace Grubbs, Malik Modlin, and Haysen Ploeger.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Dorothea Ruposky, and her brother, Andrew Ruposky.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during an open house (no line) visitation on Monday, August 19, 2024, from 4 PM to 7 PM at Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg, followed by a rosary at 7 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary Catholic Church on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at 10 AM, with Father John Meyer officiating. Burial will take place at St. Maurice Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Greensburg Decatur County Animal Shelter or Our Hospice of South Central Indiana, organizations that were close to Linda’s heart.
