He rounded third and headed home on Saturday August 26, 2023, Leonard “Leo” Morris Huntington, age 54, passed away surrounded by his family. Leonard was born in Lawrenceburg on October 24, 1968 the son of George and Barbara (Morton) Huntington.
Leonard had been all Osgood, all his life. Growing up just outside of town and was a graduate of Jac-Cen-Del High School Class of 1987. He was a familiar face to most, someone that could always make you smile and laugh, yet not take any crap from anyone.
He worked several years for the Ripley County Garage, as well as various odd jobs throughout the years. He had many joys and likes; the Cincinnati Reds, fishing anywhere, catching turtles, telling stories with buddies, driving the backroads to Zenus, or simply sharing a cold beer with one of his many friends.
As tough a guy as Leonard was, his heart was forever broken with the death of his daughter Emily. He was a changed man after this, today they are dancing in sky and sharing stories.
He will be dearly missed by wife Sharon Huntington, father George, brother Stephen (Kathy) Huntington, sister Pam (Todd) Schuler, daughters Megan and Kiersten McAdams, sons Anthony and Shane McAdams, special cousin Mert (Rhonda) Huntington, and grandchildren Hayden, Miss Kinsey, and EmmaLeigh. He was preceded in death by daughter Emily and his mother Barbara.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday August 30 from 1-4 pm. at Neal’s Funeral Home in Osgood, everyone is asked to wear their favorite Cincinnati Reds or Bengals attire. Funeral Services will be held at 4 pm. Burial will follow at Osgood Perseverance Cemetery. Memorials may be given in his honor to the family in care of the funeral home.
