Legal Aid phone clinic set for next Tuesday

COLUMBUS, IN — Legal Aid will have another free phone clinic for low-income residents of its eight-county district on Tuesday, June 7.

The district includes Decatur, Bartholomew, Brown, Jackson, Jennings, Johnson, Rush, and Shelby counties.

The phone clinic will be from 3 until 5:30 pm, but registration is required between Noon and 2 pm by calling (812) 378-0358.

The clinic uses local volunteer attorneys, offering free legal consultations to low-income residents who might not otherwise be able to afford legal counsel.

Participants can expect to receive a brief consultation in which attorneys will answer general questions, offer legal information and give other limited assistance or advice.

Registered participants must be available between 3 and 5:30 pm that day to answer a call from an attorney.
