Leah Mae Vastine, 88, of Dillsboro, IN, passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2024.
She was born January 12, 1936, daughter of the late Martin Bennett and Lorine (Noble) Bennett.
Leah worked for Murphey’s Department Store, helped with the elderly, and owned the Dearborn Motel in Lawrenceburg, with her husband, for 15 years worked.
Leah enjoyed word find puzzles, watching television, and crocheting. She loved to cook and bake. She was said to be an excellent cook, especially her lasagna, chocolate cream pie and cakes. She loved both cats and dogs. Leah loved to read the Bible and was in His Word constantly.
Leah is survived by her daughter, Melody Beam of Dillsboro, IN; son, Richard Vastine of Dillsboro, IN; grandson, Doug Beam, Jr.; and 2 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Martin and Lorine Bennett; her loving husband, Earl Eugene Vastine; and her granddaughter, Stephanie Vastine Golden.
Graveside Services will be held at Hogan Hill Cemetery, Aurora, Indiana on Friday March 15, 2024 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Bill Secrest officiating.
