Lawrenceburg native wins Gold Medal at Winter Olympics

BEIJING, CHINA — Lawrenceburg native Justin Schoenefeld has made history.

Schoenefeld is the first Hoosier to win a Gold Medal at the Winter Olympics.

He was making his Olympic debut along with girlfriend Ashley Caldwell, and Christopher Lilly in the Winter Games inaugural mixed team aerials event.

Team USA held off China and Canada to win the Gold.

The point totals were: USA 338.34; China 324.22, and Canada 290.98.

Schoenefeld honed his skills at Perfect North Slopes.
