Lawrence R. Schneider, age 83 of Morris, entered into this life October 9, 1938 in Batesville and returned to the Lord June 16, 2022. He is the son of Laurina (Schreiner) and Peter Schneider. Larry was a lifelong member of St. Anthony’s Church, a graduate of Batesville High School, a Third-Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus Council #1461 in Batesville and an army veteran.
He worked as a machinist at General Electric for over 35 years and enjoyed telling tales of the gang he car-pooled with. Larry was famous for knowing who owned what property and the lineage of those who lived there! He looked forward to card games with his siblings and always enjoyed spending time not only with his great nieces and nephews, but the little great-great ones as well. He loved when they stopped in on Halloween.
He is survived by sisters Joan Amrhein of Brookville, Lill (Dick) Ley of Frankfort, Indiana, Sr. Laurina Schneider OSF of Oldenburg; brothers Quirn Schneider of Morris, Paul (Judy) Schneider of Wooster, Ohio, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by sisters Helen Grover, Alberta Amrhein, Alvina Flaspohler and brothers Peter, Herbert and Earl Schneider.
Visitation is Wednesday, June 22, 2022 from 9 – 11 a.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home. Funeral services follow at 11:30 a.m. at St. Anthony’s Church with Rev.
