INDIANAPOLIS – State lawmakers are taking care of formalities at the Statehouse Tuesday during Organization Day.
It marks the official start of the General Assembly which begins January 5.
The ceremonial tradition is set aside to swear-in newly elected lawmakers and select a Speaker of the House by state representatives.
“We won’t be coming back officially to start work until January 5,” State Rep. Randy Frye (R-Greensburg) said Tuesday.
“We got our agenda and now we are getting things in order and getting ready for the session.”
