(Laurel, IN) – A Laurel man was arrested early Saturday following a drive-by shooting.

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office says the investigation determined that a vehicle drove past the Long Branch Tavern in Laurel shortly before 1 a.m., when the driver fired several shots into a parked truck.

After taking witness statements and viewing video evidence, deputies began searching for 49-year-old Jeremy Douglas Wilson.

He was located at his home on the 12-thousand block of Elm Tree Road, and as deputies converged on the residence, he came out of the house armed with an AR-15 style rifle.

Wilson allegedly refused to comply with deputies’ orders, which prompted a brief standoff.

Several other area law enforcement agencies responded to the scene to provide assistance.

Wilson was eventually taken into custody without incident.

Deputies say he was charged with a felony related to the shooting and was lodged in the Franklin County Security Center.

There’s no word on a motive for the shooting.

No one was injured.

Franklin County Sheriff’s deputies were assisted by the Brookville Police Department, Rush County Sheriff’s Office and Indiana State Police.
