Larry Eugene Linville, Sr., 84, of Greensburg, passed away at 7:25 a.m. on Saturday, November 25, 2023, at the Willows of Greensburg. He was born July 31, 1939, in Rush County, the son of Richard & Helen (Morford) Linville. He was a 1959 graduate of St. Paul High School and has been a Decatur County resident most of his life. He retired from the New York Central Railroad after 35 years of service. Larry was a veteran having served in the U.S. Navy and was a member of the VFW and AmVets in Shelbyville. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing cards. Survivors include his daughter, Patti Black, and Steve Mathis of Seymour; his sons, Larry Linville Jr. of Greensburg, and Terry Linville of Columbus; his brother, Michael (Annie) Linville of Greensburg; his four grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Richard Linville; his sisters, Diana and Sharon. Funeral services will be at 1:00 P.M on Saturday, December 2, 2023, at the Bass & Gasper Funeral Home at Westport. Burial will be at the Hebron Cemetery with military graveside services. The visitation will be held on Saturday from 11:00 A.M till time of service 1:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital through the funeral home.
