Girls Golf Results @ Richmond Invitational & Union County Invitational

The Lady Wildcat golfers started off their season today at The Elks in Richmond. The ladies got off to a bit of a slow start but were able to hang in there mentally and took home 1st place honors. They were able to edge out Richmond by 1 stroke. Junior, Camryn Brewer, was low for the team with a score of 86 and took home 3rd place overall for the tournament.

“Going into the season I knew we had a lot of talent coming back. I have really been trying to get this team prepared mentally to go head to head with a Richmond team that matches up with us pretty evenly. Every stroke is going to matter when we play this team and that was proven today. We were able to beat Richmond by a stroke. Needless to say, it was a great start to our season.” Lady Wildcats Coach Marisa Mears.

The Batesville Lady Bulldogs started the season with a 4th place finish in the Richmond Invitational on Monday.

Batesville’s Emma Weiler was meet medalist in her first match as a bulldog shooting a 4 over par 77. She won the tournament by 7 strokes Also for Batesville was Sarah Ronnebaum 97. Tori Harping 114. Chloe Murphy 131. Madelyn Pohlman 141.

The Lady Cats had another solid day at the Union County Invitational hosted by Liberty CC. They were able to improve their team score by 1 stroke from the previous day and take home a 2nd place finish. Richmond took home the win today shooting a solid 347. Senior, Maggie Brack and Junior, Gracie Graf, tied for 5th place overall. Maggie took home the 5th place trophy in a scorecard playoff.

“My team was able to put together another solid round and improve from the day before. Anytime there’s improvement, no matter how small, a coach will always be happy. We will continue to work hard on the “small stuff” at practice and hopefully make even bigger improvements in our next tournament.” Lady Wildcats Coach Marisa Mears.

The Ladies next tournament is this Saturday, August 10 at Greensburg CC.

The Batesville Lady Bulldogs finished 3rd out of nine teams in the Union County Invitational with a score of 410.

Freshman Emma Weiler was again meet medalist with a score of 79. Sarah Ronnebaum 99. Tori Harpring 108. Chloe Murphy 124 Madelyn Pohlman 132.
