Lady Wildcats Capture Greenfield-Central Tourney Championship

Marla Throckmorton’s three doubles produced all 4 runs (2 RBIs – 2 runs scored) for FC in a comeback win vs Milan in game one of the Greenfield-Central invite. Brooke Otto had three singles (1 run scored) and Lauryn Dessauer added 2. Hannah Hornsby drove in 1 as well. On the mound, Kamryn McCool fanned five, surrendering 2 earned on 5 hits, 0 walks, and 2 hit-battsmen. For Milan, Abby Yelton tripled and singled, Alex Dixon had 2 singles and Alexa Burton added a single.

Kendall McCool struck out 5 and surrendered 1 unearned run in a 2-1 win v Mt. Vernon in game two of the Greenfield-Central invite. Madison Brenner and Kamryn McCool drove in the lone FC runs with RBI singles. Autumn McDaniel also recorded a hit for the Cats. Kamryn McCool earned her second save of the season striking out 5 of the 6 batters faced.

Early offense and sound defense lead Franklin County to a 7-0 win in the Greenfield-Central Invite Championship over Seymour. Brenner’s lead off double was followed by three straight singles (Otto, McCool, & Throckmorton) allowing the guest Cats to jump out to a 3-0 lead. McCool and the FC defense would hold the Seymour bats at bay…allowing just two base runners…both who were left at first base.
