The Greensburg Lady Pirates hosted the South Ripley Lady Raiders Tuesday evening and earned their first win of the season with a 4-0 shutout.
Emily Lowe recorded 5 saves and the defensive line rotation of Emma Porter, Takisha Lee, Alaina Nobbe, Montana Whitaker, Katie Beam and Elizabeth Hyatt shut down the runs from the visiting squad.
Sierra Huffman scored the lone goal of the first half just past the midway point when she placed a direct kick off a South Ripley defender and into the net.
The Lady Pirates added three insurance goals in the second half to secure the win. Huffman notched her second goal three minutes into the half when she took a thru ball from Emma Porter. Katelynn Hall scored two goals at the 35 and 22 minute marks. Both goals came on crossing passes, the first from Emily Rosales and the second from Erika Fixmer. Besides Huffman and Hall, shots on goal were recorded by Kenzie Redelman, Abby Easley, Abby Schuemann, and Rosales.
The Lady Pirates are now 1-6 on the season and travel to Madison Thursday evening for a 5:30 kickoff with the Lady Cubs.
