Lady Pirates Fall Short Against Lady Cubs

The Greensburg Lady Pirates traveled to Madison Thursday evening and lost to the host Lady Cubs 4-0.

The Lady Pirates started the game maintaining possession in the first 10 minutes and forcing 3 offside calls, but gave up a thru ball that allowed Madison to get a 1 on 1 with keeper Emily Lowe. Madison scored 6 minutes later and held possession for the remainder of the first half.


After the halftime break, the Lady Pirates kept possession for the first 15 minutes and had multiple opportunities but could not find the back of the net. Madison scored on quick counters in a 3-minute span with just under 20 minutes left in the half.

For the game, Greensburg recorded 9 shots on frame while the Lady Cubs had 8 on goal but 14 total shots. Emily Lowe recorded 4 saves on the evening and the defensive line finished with 8 offside traps forced against Madison. Sierra Huffman had 4 shots while Alaina Nobbe, Kaelyn Spears, Sara Brown, Abby Easley and Emily Rosales recorded one each.

The loss drops the squad to 1-7 and they will host Seymour next Tuesday with a 5:30 PM kickoff.
