The Lady Pirates soccer team traveled to Rushville Saturday morning for an EIAC match in rainy conditions. The Lady Pirates earned their first conference win with a 5-2 mark on the pitch.

Four minutes into the game Maddi Hellmich collected a missed clear to open the scoring. The Lady Lions tied the match with 5 minutes remaining but Emma Overmyer gave Greensburg the halftime lead when she netted a direct kick from 25+ yards with 90 seconds to play in the 1st half. Kasey Moeller got the second half scoring underway taking a pass from Maddi Hellmich 7 minutes into the half. Michaela Myers added the next goal at the 27 min. mark when a corner kick was cleared to her at the 18 yard box and she dropped her shot in via the crossbar. Rushville connected on their second goal with a direct kick score of their own at the 24 minutes mark. With under a minute to play Maddi Hellmich added her second goal off an assist by Moeller to round out the scoring.
McKella Lynette made 7 saves on the day and the team played a complete game stepping hard and controlling possession. Also taking shots were: Keirsten Lynette, Emma Hellmich and Julia Pacilio.
The win brings the overall record to 5-5-2 and 1-3 in EIAC play. The Lady Pirates will be in action on Thursday as they travel to Franklin County for another EIAC match. Kickoff at 5PM for varsity with a JV half to follow.
