Lady Dogs Win Over Lady Knights

The Dog Pound closes early for the second straight night as Batesville toppled the knights in minimum sets.

From JV coach Shelly Prickle: With scores of 25-9, 25-20, the JV Lady Bulldog volleyball team defeated South Dearborn. For the 2nd straight match, 15 players contributed to the win. Maggie Walsman regained her service form scoring 17 points including 10 straight to end the first set. Cece Hund chipped in with 5 service points including an ace to spark the team. Tori Kurtz continued her solid play at the net with 5 kills while connecting on all 9 of her attempts. Lily Abplanalp had 5 perfect serve receives to lead the back row. Monica Gerstbauer fueled the offense with 10 assists from her setter position. The team is now 14-2.

In the varsity match, for the second consecutive night, we were able to keep our unforced errors to an average 12 per set. Uncharacteristically a lot of those came form the service line. However so did a lot of good as we recorded 14 aces on the night with Audrey Amberger #8 & Kyie Laker #7 both serving up four each.  Back that up with 22 kills on the night, with Morgan Meyer #3 taking the lion share of 10, and you have a good night of volleyball. Defensivley sound as ever, we shared 35 digs on the evening.

Varsity will travel to the Cougar Invitational on Saturday @ Greenfield-Central.  We will start in a pool with the host team, Greenfield-Central (11-8) and Whiteland  (2-17).  All Matches will start @ 9:00am.
