Lady Cardinals Successful At Weekend Home Invitational

The St. Louis 7/8 girls basketball hosted their annual SLS invitational on Saturday.  Pulling away as the Champs for one game and runner ups for the other.  Not a bad day for the Cardinals.

The 7th grade started of game 1 against the Milan Indians.  They won this game 25-18.  We started off a little slow, and found our groove by quarter 2.  Scoring for SLS were Claire Saner with 8 pts, Kate Weber with 6 pts, Catherine Streator with 3 pts, and Sadie Wachsmann, Lea Cossentino, Lilly Schebler, and Izza Wonnell all bring 2 pts to the game.  This lead them into the championship game against South Decatur.  They won this game making the 7th grade SLS Cards the champs of their tournament.  The final score for this game was 25-11.   Scoring for St. Louis were Claire Saner with 10 pts, Rhea Miller with 8 pts, Izza Wonnell with 3 pts, and Kate Weber along with Catherine Streator both bringing 2 pts each.  It was a great game and they played very hard all day!  Nice job ladies.

The 8th grade Lady Cards were able to lock in a runners up trophy.  They played the Milan Indians game 1.  The final score was 33-19.  Scoring for SLS were Megan Bauer with 15 pts, Catherine Streator with 11 pts, Summer Ratcliffe with 5 pts, and Lea Cossentino with 2 pts.  This brought them to the championship game against St. Bart’s of Columbus.  We weren’t able to pull off the win, but they played a hard game.  The final score was 43-12.  Scoring were Megan Bauer with 8 pts, Kate Weber with 3 pts, and Claire Saner with 1 pt.  Nice job ladies!!!
