The Lady Bulldog defense would lock it down in the second half and only gave up 1 shot for the rest of the match. With 30 minutes to play, Olive Cerniglia punted the ball over half field and the ball found Prickel on another breakaway to the goal as she finished off her hat trick. Batesville would add one more score as Werner found the back of the net off an assist from Prickel.

The JV Girls soccer team faced off against Greenwood on Thursday evening. The Bulldogs started off strong and Laney Flynn scored quickly with a pass from Bella Britch. Batesville had many opportunities in the half but the Greenwood keeper did a great job defending their goal. However, that didn’t stop Tristan Rowlett from sinking a shot into the back of the net with the assist coming from Jenna Honnert. Late in the half, Eden Lewis and Hailey Lipps, main defensive players for the Bulldogs, got their chance at offense. Lipps ripped a shot that hit the near post shortly after moving up top. That sparked a new found energy and fed Lewis’ hunger for a goal. After intercepting a poor clearance, Lewis got her chance and she finished it with an upper 90 shot. The Bulldogs defeated Greenwood 3-0.
