Lady Bulldogs Weekend Volleyball Results

C Team vs Rushville
Batesville C Team hosted their first home game 8/24 against Rushville.  We were able to win in 2 games.  Game one ended 25-15 serving for us were Kennedy Westrick with 4 pats, Bella Shields with 4pts, and Faith Tekulve with 4pts and 1 ace.  Tiffany Hawkers served us 3pts, and Belle Westerfeld gave us 2pts.  We played very well by moving and talking!  Game 2 was a 25-16 victory.  Serving this game was Kennedy Westrick with 5pts 1 ace, Faith Tekulve with 3pts 1ace, Tiffany Hawker with 2pts 1ace, and both Belle Westerfeld and Megan Raab with 1pt each.  Another scrappy game where we hit well from the front and covered out hitters well!  Nice win ladies!    

Varsity & JV played a home match against Shelbyville
The Batesville Bulldog JV Volleyball team lost a hard-fought battle vs. Shelbyville on Saturday. Scores were 15-25; 25-22; 11-15. After a slow start, the girls rebounded nicely with more aggressive service and netplay to seal game 2. Game 3 was a battle of service runs in which we fell just short. Sophie Lee and Shelby Westerfeld led the front line attack with 3 kills each vs. Shelbyville’s scrappy defense. Westerfeld had 3 stuff blocks, while Sydnee Schaefer and Regina Gerstbauer were the top passers on defense with 9 and 7 digs respectively. The team is now 3-1 and will travel to play conference rival, Greensburg on Monday. 

The Varsity Lady Bulldogs lost their first match of the season against Shelbyville on Saturday. The dogs were without starting middle Kerigan Haskamp who went down Friday with an ankle injury. The dogs started out strong with the new line-up and won the first set. Shelbyville quickly adjusted and took the next 3 sets. Batesville was led in defense by Regina Gerstbauer and in serving with 3 aces and 21 for 22 in attempts. Macy Prickel and Cayman Werner led the team at the net. Macy had 8 kills on the day while Cayman led in kill percentage. The Dogs hope to get their first conference win Monday night as they travel to Greensburg to take on the Pirates.
