Lady Bulldogs Varsity Grabs Lead In Eighth Inning To Defeat Lady Cubs

The Bulldogs ran off with the lead late in the game in a 12-9 victory over Madison on Friday. The game was tied at eight with the Bulldogs batting in the top of the eighth when Sydnee Scheafer doubled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run.   

There was plenty of action on the basepaths as the Bulldogs collected 11 hits while Madison had nine.

Batesville got things moving in the first inning, when Emma Belter singled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run.
Madison evened things up at eight in the bottom of the fourth inning off a triple.   

Paige Oldham toed the rubber for Batesville allowing nine hits and over eight innings, striking out eight. 

Batesville saw the ball well today, racking up 11 hits in the game. Calli Fletcher (a single and a double), Scheafer (a single and a double, Belter (two singles), and Sophie Lee (two doubles) each had multiple hits.  
  
Lee led the team with 5 RBIs, while Scheafer and Kylie Laker finished with two each.   

The Bulldogs move to 5-2 on the season with the win.
