Lady Bulldogs Split Battle With Lady Cats

The 7th Grade Lady Bulldogs lost an exciting and hard-fought game to Franklin County 27-23 in double overtime.

The Bulldogs played aggressive basketball on both sides of the floor.  However, the difference in the game was free throws with the Wildcats going 9 for 14 while the Bulldogs went 0-5.   Hinners led the team in scoring with 8 points; followed by Rachel Lamping with 7 points; Billie Puente with 4 points; and Alyssa Nobbe and Elaney McGuire with 2 points each.

The Lady Bulldogs finish the regular season with a 5-8 record and will start tournament play Monday night vs. South Ripley at home 5:30 pm.  Come out and support the Bulldogs.

The 8th Grade Lady Bulldogs increased their record to 10 wins against 3 loses with a 46 – 34 win over the Lady Wildcats of Franklin County.  The Lady Bulldogs used an aggressive defense to create turnovers that lead to easy points.  Offensively the Lady Bulldogs were lead by Emma Weiler, who lead all scorers, with 25.  Other scorers for the Lady Bulldogs were Ava Hanson with 6, Megan Meyer added 5, Makayla Granger scored 4, Tiffany Hawker and Madelyn Pohlman each tallied 2, and Jadyn Harrington and Cora Deputy each added 1 point.  

The Lady Wildcats were lead by Josie Rolfes with 16.  Other scoring for the Lady Wildcats were Kiersten Schell with 10, Kassidy Schell added 5, Maegan Pearson scored 2 and Allison Andrè had 1 point.

The Lady Bulldogs open the SEI Tournament on Monday night by hosting the South Ripley Lady Raiders.  The 7th grade game will tipoff at 5:30.
