The Batesville Lady Bulldogs fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 9-5 loss to The North Decatur Lady Chargers on Friday. North scored on an error and a double by #15 in the first inning.
ND fired up the offense in the first inning. An error scored two runs for The Lady Chargers. Batesville scored four runs in the sixth inning. The offense in the inning was led by Emma Belter, Renee Lecher, and Sarah Ripperger, who each had RBIs in the inning. North scored three runs in the third inning. ND batters contributing to the big inning included #24 and #11, all driving in runs in the inning.
#23 led things off in the pitcher’s circle for The Lady Chargers. She lasted seven innings, allowing five hits and five runs while striking out 11 and walking one.
Paige Oldham was in the circle for Batesville. The hurler allowed 12 hits and nine runs over seven innings, striking out eight and walking one. Oldham went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead The Lady Bulldogs in hits.
The Lady Chargers collected 12 hits. #8, #15, #11, #3, and #1 all managed multiple hits. #8 led the way with three hits in four at-bats.
Lady Tigers Runs Away With Early Lead In Victory on Thursday
The Batesville Lady Bulldogs fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 10-0 loss to Lawrenceburg on Thursday. Lawrenceburg took the lead on a double in the first inning.
Batesville struggled to contain the high-powered offense of Lawrenceburg, giving up ten runs. The Lady Tigers got things started in the first inning when #6 doubled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run. A single by Kylie Laker in the first inning was a positive for The Lady Bulldogs.
#4 led things off on the rubber for The Lady Tigers. She went five innings, allowing zero runs on four hits, striking out one, and walking one. Paige Oldham was in the pitcher’s circle for Batesville. She surrendered six runs on seven hits over two innings, striking out two. Renee Lecher threw two and a third innings in relief.
Emma Belter, Sydnee Scheafer, Lecher, and Laker each collected one hit to lead The Lady Bulldogs. Lawrenceburg saw the ball well today, racking up 12 hits in the game. #12, #6, and #5 each had multiple hits for The Lady Tigers.
Batesville Bulldogs Varsity Outdone By South Dearborn Knights, 6-3 on Tuesday
In the first inning, The Batesville Lady Bulldogs got their offense started when an error scored two runs.
SD pulled away for good with three runs in the third inning. In the third Lunsford hit a solo homer and Seaver singled on a 1-2 count, scoring two runs. The Lady Knights scored three runs in the fourth inning. The offensive onslaught was led by Lunsford and Cornett, all driving in runs in the frame.
Lubazzo got the win for South. She allowed two runs on zero hits. Cornett threw seven innings in relief out of the bullpen.
Paige Oldham took the loss for Batesville. Oldham went five innings, allowing six runs on nine hits and striking out two.
Emma Belter and Oldham each collected one hit to lead The Lady Bulldogs.
SD racked up ten hits on the day. Lunsford and Ditmer each collected multiple hits for The Lady Knights.
