Lady Bulldogs Volleyball Team Place 3rd At Greenfield-Central

The Varsity Lady Bulldogs traveled to Greenfield-Central to compete in an 8 team tournament. We had a good run at it. The only match we lost was to New Haven who ended up in second place while the Bulldogs took third.

The Dogs defeated Anderson, Daleville, and Edinburg to end the day 3-1. Congratulations to Senior Macy Prickel who made the all-tournament team for the second year.  Other notable players were Regina Gerstbauer who was 42 for 46 serving with 34 points and 3 aces, Laney Walsman was 31 for 32 with 23 points and 6 aces, and Kylie Laker who was 33 for 37 scoring 23 points and 4 aces. The offense was led by Macy Prickel and Katie Bedel while a great defense display was put forth by Nikki Fox.  It was a team effort with all eleven girls seeing playing time.

Our next match is Tuesday, Oct. 1, against the Franklin County Wildcats.

The Batesville Volleyball C Team traveled to EC for their EIAC Tournament on Saturday.  Placing 4th after some really close matchups wasn’t a bad way to end.

Game one was against Lawrenceburg where we lost in 3 games.  Scores were 20-25, 25-23, and 16-14.  Serving for us during these were Sophie Lee with 10pts 3 aces, Kaitlyn Sarringhaus with 8 points 3 aces, Megan Raab with 6pts 1 ace, Kennedy Westrick with 5pts, Faith Tekulve with 4pts, and Brayleigh Patterson with 3pts.  Came down to a missed serve and a few unforced errors on our behalf.

Match up 2 was against Rushville where we won in 2 games.  Scores were 25-17 and 25-19.  Serving for us strong were both Kennedy Westrick with 10pts 2aces, and Kaitlyn Sarringhaus with 10pts 2aces also.

Match up 3 was against FC for the Pool 2 placements (3rd and 4th) where we lost in 3 sets.  Scores were 25-19, 18-25, and 15-13.  Where a call was made that took our wind out of the sails and we just couldn’t pull those 2 pts off.

We played a great days worth of volleyball and are excited to match up with FC again on Monday night.
