Lady Bulldogs Fall Short Against Lady Pirates

The Batesville JV Volleyball team suffered a disappointing loss in Greensburg on Monday. Despite outscoring their opponents 63-53 overall, consistency was lacking at crunch time in sets 1 and 3 when it was needed most. Final scores were 25-22, 10-25, and 18-16.

Credit goes to the Pirates for fighting off a couple of match points. Regina Gerstbauer was perfect on all 20 of her serves earning 15 points including 2 aces. Naia Bustinza and Shelby Westerfeld provided firepower in the front line with 7 kills each.

The Lady Dogs hope to return to their winning ways at home tomorrow night vs. Franklin County.

The Varsity traveled to Greensburg and suffered a tough loss. The Dogs didn’t come out strong but gradually gained some momentum. It was not enough against Greensburg’s blocking and strong attacks. Final scores were 25-10, 25-20, 23-25, 25-11.

The serving was led by Katie Bedel and Laney Walsman. Our attacks were led by freshman Cayman Werner who came to play! Defensively we were led by Macy Prickel and Regina Gerstbauer.

The Dogs are in action again Tuesday night against Franklin County.
