Lady Bulldogs And Lady Eagles Battle To Scoreless Tie

In the final regular-season game for both Batesville and Heritage Christian, both teams failed to find the back of the net in a 0-0 draw.

The Batesville defense held strong throughout the match and recorded their 5th shutout of the season. Lily Meyer and Ellie Cassidy did a nice job limiting opportunities from Heritage Christian.

The Batesville offense outshot Heritage Christian 19-9 for the match. With 15 minutes remaining, Abbey Prickel found space and scored but the assistant referee called offsides and the goal was negated.

Batesville finished off their regular season with a record of 8-6-1. The Lady Bulldogs travel to Greensburg on Tuesday for their sectional matchup against Beech Grove.

The JV Girls soccer team faced off against the Heritage Christian Eagles in their last game of the season.

The Bulldogs came out with good energy and controlled the play most of the game. Maggie Weberding played a well-timed ball to Allie Savage, who put the Dogs on the scoreboard. Leading into half, Batesville led 1-0 over the Eagles.

In the second half, the Bulldogs communicated better and made more connections on the field. Late in the half, Bella Britch received the ball from Laney Flynn and added one more to the Dog’s score. Taking the score to 2-0.  Haley Lipps and Eden Lewis led the defense and directed the team from the back. Lilly Wonnell added another shutout to her record for the evening as well. The ladies ended their season 5-7.
