Kroger reinstates universal mask mandate for employees

CINCINNATI, OH — Kroger is reinstating its universal mask mandate for all employees, regardless of their vaccination status.

The company says masking is optional, but strongly recommended, for customers.

Mask requirements were eased by the company when the COVID-19 pandemic eased but are being brought back in the wake of recent spikes in positive cases brought on by the Delta variant.

In addition to Kroger stores, the company operates several regional grocery chains in 35 states, including Jay C Food Stores in Southern Indiana.

The Cincinnati-based company has around 465,00 employees.
