(Batesville, IN) – Batesville Kiwanis recognized one of its members at last week’s club meeting.
Al Hartman recently participated in an Honor Flight out of the Indianapolis International Airport.
The Honor Flight program provides veterans with an all-expense paid trip to Washington D.C., to visit the memorials dedicated to their service and sacrifice.
“It’s a meaningful way to thank our heroes for all they’ve given to our country,” reads a statement from Batesville Kiwanis. “Al, we thank you for your service and are so happy you had this unforgettable experience.”
Hartman turned 93 in September along with his twin sister, Dorothy Flaspohler.
They were the first set of twins born at the original Margaret Mary Health, and recently met the first twins born at the new hospital.
