Kathie K. Bischoff, age 74 of Batesville, died Friday, June 2, 2023 at her home. Born March 12, 1949 in Indianapolis, she is the daughter of Rebecca (Nee: Bland) and Arthur Smith. She worked in quality control for the Hill-Rom Company.
A dog lover, Kathie was very fond of Wolf, her white German Shepard and was active in support of the SPCA. She also was an accomplished artist who enjoyed drawing, loved cooking for her family and was always up for a game of cards. Her quiet time often found her crocheting. After her cancer diagnosis, she kept a positive approach throughout her journey, which was true to her nature. Kathie felt life was an adventure and is now enjoying her next adventure.
She is survived by daughters Danielle Shane of Oldenburg, Chantel Weiler of Batesville, Mandy Lee of Metamora; sister Robin Smith of Miami, Florida; brothers Arthur “Little Smitty” Smith of Bowling Green, Kentucky, Tony Smith of North Vernon, Indiana and nine grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her sister Kim Bischoff.
Visitation is Tuesday, June 6th, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home. Funeral services follow at 1 p.m. with burial at Holy Family Cemetery in Oldenburg. The family requests memorials to Margaret Mary Health Hospice. For online condolences go to www.weigelfh.com.
