Karen Laine to Keynote DCCF Women and Girls Event

(Greensburg, IN) – Karen Laine, the former co-host of HGTV’s “Good Bones,” will be the keynote speaker at the Decatur County Community Foundation’s 2024 Women and Girls Fund event on April 17 at Heritage Hill Events.

This year’s theme is “Breakfast at Tiffany’s.”

“Karen has a fascinating story and diverse experiences to share with our audience. We’re eager to hear about the projects she’s been involved in and how her expertise in construction and remodeling can inspire us to rebuild our personal lives,” said event chair Emily Steele.

The Women and Girls Fund awards grants annually to support projects affecting women and girls in Decatur County.

The Fund was started in 2004, and recipients have included groups such as New Directions, Decatur County Memorial Hospital’s Mammography Department, the Pregnancy Care Center, and even a scholarship for a local woman returning to school.

At this year’s event, three new grant recipients will be announced.

Proceeds from the 2024 “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” event are invested back into the Women and Girls Fund. Interest off the fund will be used to support next year’s grant projects.

Tickets are now available for $30 apiece, or $200 for a table of eight.

Doors open at 6 p.m., and the evening will include a presentation from Laine, along with the introduction of this year’s grant recipients.

An assortment of breakfast fare will be served.
