Juvenile injured in pedestrian vs. pickup truck collision

BATESVILLE, IN — An 11-year-old suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries after being hit by a pickup truck around 9:05 Thursday night at the intersection of South Park and Western avenues in Batesville.

Police say 41-year-old Michael Yorn of Batesville was driving a 2012 Chevrolet Silverado north on South Park Avenue approaching the intersection with Western Avenue when the juvenile ran into the street directly in the path of his pickup truck.

The youth was taken by ambulance to Margaret Mary Health for further treatment.

There’s no word on the unidentified 11-year-olds’ condition.

Officer Trevor Comer led the investigation and was assisted at the scene by Corporal Ryan Metcalf, Officer Haylie Brown, the Batesville Fire Department, and Batesville EMS.
