Julia Catherine Hamilton Kays, 98

Julia Catherine Hamilton Kays, 98 of Connersville, passed away on September 19, 2026. She was born on April 4, 1928 in Franklin County, Indiana the daughter of Earl and Elva Throckmorton Noah. Julia was in the Clarksburg High School Class of 1946. Julia married William Robert Hamilton on January 8, 1947 and he preceded her in death in 1993. She remarried Arnold R. Kays and he preceded her in death in 2020. Julia worked at the Rex Manufacturing in Connersville; she was the Vice President of H&H Cartridge Company in Greensburg; and she worked in the cafeteria at the Connersville High School until she retired completely in 1992. Julia was a member of the Connersville Baptist Temple; the Order of Eastern Star; the Gideon Auxiliary, and the Auxiliary Air Force, Civil Air Patrol; She was a faithful volunteer at Fayette Memorial hospital for 14 years. Julia was the second woman to take flying lessons at the Connersville Airport.
Survivors include: son, Bud (Nancy) Hamilton; stepchildren, Ruth Zeis and Valis Bill (Joyce) Kays; grandchildren, Angela (Darryl) Speers, Dawn Marie (Wyatt) Wooten, Charles Walke, Cynthia (Mel) Santos, Robert (Tally) Hamilton; great grandchildren, Arianna Wooten, Jacob Walke, Katie Walke and Malia Santos; brother, Donald (Sharon) Noah; and sister, Faye (Bill) Green.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; daughter, Janet Walke; brothers, Carter Noah, Russell “Buck” Noah, Albert Noah, Clarence Noah, Jim Noah, John Noah, Doug Noah, Everett Noah; and sisters, Jessie Adams, Retha Kelley, and Maxine Grubbs.
A visitation for family and friends will be held at the Connersville Baptist Temple, 1380 IN-44, Connersville, Indiana 47331 on Monday, October 5, 2026 at 11:00 am until the time of the funeral services at 1:00 pm. Order of Eastern Star Ceremony will follow at the Dale Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the Gideons International.
