Judge blocks Governor’s order withdrawing Indiana from enhanced federal unemployment program

Indianapolis, IN — A judge in Marion County has issued a preliminary injunction ordering the State of Indiana to continue paying pandemic unemployment benefits.

The ruling comes after two groups filed a lawsuit against Governor Eric Holcomb and the Indiana Department of Workforce Development over the decision to end the $300 per week benefit.

The unemployment benefits will continue at least until a final ruling is made in the lawsuit.

In a statement from the Indiana Attorney General’s office, Todd Rokita said he plans to file an appeal.
