Juanita Marie Brown, 94, of Westport

Juanita Marie Brown, 94, of Westport, formerly of Vevay, passed away at 10:20 a.m. Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at Aspen Place Health Campus in Greensburg. She was born on  April 8, 1932, in Florence, Indiana the daughter of Bernard Toby and Delilah (George) McClellan. She was raised in Florence and graduated from Patriot High School in 1950. She served as head cook at Sandcreek Elementary for several years and had also worked at a shoe factory. She owned and operated Brown’s Downtown Restaurant for many years and had worked in the deli at Clarkson’s Grocery. She was a member of the Westport United Methodist Church and Vevay United Methodist Church. Her hobbies included cooking and reading. Juanita had a beautiful soprano voice and sang at hundreds of weddings. She married Jack Brown, on October 25, 1952, in Madison, Indiana. He preceded her in death on September 9, 2014. She is survived by her daughters, Lisa Milligan and Lori (Joe) Brown Bierhaus both of Westport; her grandchildren, Eryn Sproessig of North Vernon, Tara (Keith) Sample of Westport, Lt. Colonel Zach (Jennifer) Bierhaus of Spokane, Washington and Chris (Casey) Bierhaus of Westport; her great grandchildren, Austin Thackery, Ema Thackery, Aly Bush, Hunter Sproessig, Tilden Bierhaus, Clint Bierhaus, Tucker Bierhaus and Ellison Bierhaus and her 3 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack and her son-in-law, Ron Milligan. Graveside Services will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at the Vevay Cemetery in Vevay, Indiana. A time of visitation will be held on Friday, May 29, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Bass & Gasper Funeral Home.
