Joyce A. Demetriades, 82, of New Haven passed away at 1:10am, Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at the Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne. She was born near Osgood on May 12, 1938 the daughter of Paul and Norma Pendergast Black. She was married to Nick Demetriades on June 5, 1960 and he preceded her in death on September 6, 1995. Survivors include two sons Michael (Belinda) Demetriades of Brownsburg and Chris Demetriades of Garrett; one daughter Cathy (Dan) McGuire of Ft. Wayne; 4 grandchildren Cayla (Reid) Yoder, Spencer (Michelle) Davidson, Clayton Pusey, and Nick Demetriades; one great-grandson Will Yoder; two sisters Geneva Kennedy of Versailles and Shirla Jones of Napoleon. She was also preceded in death by her parents, her son-in-law Mark Pusey, her brothers Roy, Paul Edward, William, Kenneth, Wayne, and Melvin Black, and her sisters Gladys Black, Berta Jean Menchhofer, Mary Sanders, Wilma Hughes, and Emma Lee Beagle. Mrs. Demetriades was a 1956 graduate of Versailles High School. She was a former employee of INDOT, Bower’s Envelope in Indianapolis, and retired from the Raytheon Corporation in Ft. Wayne where she worked in the digitizing department. Joyce enjoyed spending time with her family and had completed and framed many picture puzzles for her children. She also enjoyed taking care of her dog Sampson. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 4th at 1pm at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Rev. Mike Cantrell of the Versailles Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in the Cliff Hill Cemetery in Versailles. Visitation will also be on Monday beginning at 11am. Memorials may be given to the Cliff Hill Cemetery in care of the funeral home.
