Joy Marie Vastine, 73, of Aurora, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, January 22, 2026.
She was born on July 21, 1952, in Cincinnati, Ohio, the daughter of the late Fredrick Courter and Joyce (Marksberry) Courter.
Joy worked as a Department Manager for Walmart and retired after many years of dedicated service.
She is survived by her daughters, Melissa (Clayton Schreiner) Vastine and Misty (Joshua) Kindler; her sons, Michael (Melissa) Vastine and Tracy (Barb) Vastine; her grandchildren, Kasey, Heather, Hannah, Ashley, Jayden, Courtney, and Landen; her great-grandchildren, Bryson and Braxton; her sisters, Vicki Barr and Angie Leedy; her brothers, Michael Courter and Gary Courter; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Fredrick and Joyce Courter; her loving husband, Henry Gene Vastine; her granddaughter, Chelsey; and her brothers, Fredrick Courter and John Courter.
Friends will be received on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Rullman Hunger Funeral Home, 219 Mechanic Street, Aurora, Indiana.
Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m with Mike Abdon officiating.
Interment will follow at Hogan Hill Cemetery in Aurora, Indiana.
Contributions may be made to the funeral home to assist with expenses.
