Joy B. Lanning, age 86, of Brookville, Indiana died Sunday night, April 10, 2016 at Reid in Richmond, Indiana.
Born September 27, 1929 in Brookville, Indiana she was the daughter of the late Clarence & Ethel (Rockwell) Linderman. On September 3, 1949 she was united in marriage to John M. Lanning, and he preceded her on their 65th anniversary, September 3, 2014.
She was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary of Brookville.
Survivors include three children and their spouses, John J. & Cindy Lanning of Cincinnati, Ohio, Mitchell & Rose Wiwi-Lanning of Florence, Kentucky and Penny & Rob Hofer of Brookville, Indiana; five grandsons, Cameron Hofer, Logan Hofer, John Lanning, Vincent Lanning, Joshua Lanning; one great-granddaughter, Emilia Hofer; as well as a brother, Clarence Linderman Jr. of Connersville, Indiana.
In addition to her parents and husband, John, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Rosemary Brandt and Gloria Cox, an infant sister, Emily Ann Linderman, and a granddaughter, Rachel Ann Lanning.
The Very Rev. Sean Danda will officiate the Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, April 14, 2016, 10:30 A.M., at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 145 East St. Michael Blvd., Brookville. Burial will then follow in Maple Grove Cemetery in Brookville.
Family & friends may visit from 8:00 A.M. until 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, April 14, 2016 at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home, 1025 Franklin Avenue, Brookville.
