Joseph E. Foster, age 83, of Brookville, Indiana died Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at Envive Healthcare Center in Brookville following a lengthy illness.
Born April 6, 1943 in Laurel, Indiana he was the son of the late Robert & Catherine (Fox) Foster. He was united in marriage to the former Donna Himes on August 23, 1969, and she survives.
He was a member of the Buena Southern Missionary Baptist Church.
Joe retired from the former Ford/Visteon in Connersville, where he worked for 30 years. In his leisure time he enjoyed mushroom hunting, spending time with his family, watching television and playing video games.
Besides Donna, his loving wife of over 56 years, survivors include two daughters, Tammy (Chad) McClure of Brookville, Indiana, Kimberly (fiancé, Chase Mosier) Foster of Shelbyville, Indiana; a sister, Martha McQueen of Shelbyville, Indiana; five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Michelle Foster; a brother, Bobby Foster, as well as his brother-in-law, Lawrence McQueen.
Friends may visit from 9:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. Saturday, April 18, 2026 at Buena Southern Missionary Baptist Church, 25220 Chapel Road, Laurel, Indiana.
Rev. Rob Edwards will officiate the Funeral Service at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, April 18, 2026 at the Buena Baptist Church. He will then be laid to rest at Laurel North Cemetery in Laurel.
