Johnnie Lyn Stegemiller, 77, a longtime resident of Aurora, Indiana, passed away on October 22, 2026. She was born on February 8, 1949, to the late Rupert and Nina (Chapin) Horton.
Johnnie shared 57 years of marriage with her husband, Rick Stegemiller. She served her community as a nurse with the Dearborn County Health Department for 22 years.
Above all, Johnnie loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed reading Stephen King books and traveling with Rick, with their trip to the Poconos holding a special place in her heart. She also delighted in buying clothes for her grandchildren, a thoughtful way she showed her love.
Johnnie is survived by her husband, Rick Stegemiller; son, Kevin (Kate) Stegemiller; grandchildren, Noah (Sabrina) Stegemiller and Christopher Stegemiller; great-grandchildren, Briar and Gideon Stegemiller; brother, Michael Horton; and sister, Gail (Virgil) Cooley.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 26, 2026, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., with the funeral service beginning at 7:00 p.m. Both will take place at Rullman Hunger Funeral Home, 219 Mechanic Street, Aurora, Indiana 47001.
