John Holliday – Sunman

John D. Holliday of Sunman, was born on December 18, 1927 in Batesville, the son of John D and Minnie Edwards Holliday.  He served his country with the United States Army, and upon his return he married Verda Mae Burns in Lawrenceburg on October 2, 1948.  John was a tool and die maker for over 39 years with GM.  He was a member of Dearborn Baptist Church and enjoyed volunteering at the church.  In his spare time he loved golfing.  On Sunday, June 17, 2018 at the age of 90, John passed away at Margaret Mary Health.

 

Those surviving who will cherish John’s memory include his wife of over 69 years, Verda Holliday; 2 daughters; 2 granddaughters; 2 sisters, Marie Johnson of Tampa, FL, and Lydia Amm of Dillsboro, and a brother, Robert Holliday of Florida.  Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Pauline.

 

Friends may visit with the family on Friday, June 22, 2018 from 5 until 7 p.m. at Cook Rosenberger Funeral Home, 107 Vine Street, Sunman.  Funeral services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with burial following at St. Paul Cemetery.
