John Douglas “Jack” Postel, age 76, of Brookville, Indiana died Sunday, March 22, 2020 at his residence in Brookville, following a brave battle with cancer.
Born August 18, 1943 in Cincinnati, Ohio he was the only child of the late Robert & Helen (Bailey) Postel. He was a United States Army Veteran of the Vietnam era.
On November 21, 1970 he was united in marriage to the former Janet Combs, and she survives.
Jack was retired from Cincinnati Gas & Electric / Duke Energy where he has worked for 30 years. He was a member of the Brookville Church of Christ. In his leisure time he cherished time spent with his granddaughters, being outdoors taking care of his property, and archery.
Survivors include his wife of over 49 years, Janet Postel of Brookville; a daughter & son-in-law, Tammy (Wayne) Reinhardt of Brookville; two granddaughters, Autumn Lynn Postel and Raven Bailey Reinhardt,
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Sean Douglas Postel who died in 2014.
Due to the current pandemic, there will be no public services. Burial will take place in Maple Grove Cemetery in Brookville.
