Joan Marie Bradley, age 78 of Batesville, Indiana passed away on Friday, August 4, 2023 at her home. The daughter of Frank Y. and Eva Marie (nee: Troy) Glaze was born on April 12, 1945 in Cincinnati, Ohio.
She married Paul M. Corbin and they had two children before he passed away in 1976.
Joan graduated from the Christ Hospital School of Nursing in 1966 and became a Certified Nurse Administrator in 1990. All the while she kept working, starting in the field in 1968 at Marlboro Community Hospital, Marlboro, MA, then onto Memorial Hospital (Jewish Hospital), Cincinnati before working at Milan Health Care for a year. She then founded Tender Loving Care, Home Care in Milan until she became Regional Manager for Care Star Home Care in Cincinnati, in 1990. Joan always kept busy and opened a shop called Barn Yard Buddies in Milan from 1994 -1998. In 1999 she became the Director of Nursing at The Waters in Batesville and remained there until 2010 when she took her present job at ISDH as the State Certified Nurse Aide Examiner with Ivy Tech Community College.
Joan was always involved with her church where she helped with worship service and visiting seniors. She played the piano and organ for the Sunman Community Church for many years. More recently she taught Sunday School at the Church on Fire in Batesville where she was a member.
She was known as Granny Joan, to everyone young and old. She loved her dogs and tending to her flower garden. Years ago, she used to raise horses, breed and sell them and even had a champion stallion. She will be dearly missed by her friends and especially by her children, grand children and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her sons and their wives, Scott (Sis) Corbin and Todd (Lisa) Corbin; 4 grandchildren, Brandi Burdsall, MacKenzie Corbin, Felicia Corbin and Cordell Corbin; 4 great grandchildren, A.J. Schupp, Ashtyn Corbin, Oliver Baber, Rhys Burdsall and one great grandson on the way.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul M. Corbin; siblings, Robert Glaze and Marjorie Glaze.
Visitation will be Saturday, August 12, 2023 from 10am – 12pm with 12:00pm funeral service immediately after, all at Meyers Funeral Home in Batesville. Pastor Terry Allen officiating. Burial will be later that day at 2:45pm, in the Mt. Moriah Cemetery,686 Mt. Moriah Dr. (Amelia) Cincinnati, OH 45245.
