There’s been a bit of a shakeup in local high school basketball. A new head boys’ coach has been hired at Greensburg, someone about as solid a Pirate as possible. That young man is current baseball assistant and Dean of Students, Collin Rigney. He played for the Pirates’ back-to-back state championship hoops teams of 2013 & 14, and graduated Ball State in ’18. Rigney’s just wrapping up his first year as Dean for his alma mater, and was an assistant for a time when current Athletic Director Stacy Meyer was head coach. Meyer says he looks forward to a smooth transition. Former Coach Shaun Busick, who guided the Pirates to a good 18 & 8 record this past season, has had his retirement accepted by the school board this week.
