After a rain delay of 44 minutes last night, the Reds and Rockies got back on the field at the Ballpark, Cincinnati going on to grab the win, 12-6. It was the 2nd straight victory in the current set, and the Reds have now won 7 in a row over Colorado. Cincy pounded out 4 home runs on the way to the win. Catcher Tyler Stephenson with a solo shot in the 2nd. Later that inning, Will Benson sent a 3-run blast out of the park to make the score 5-0. In the 7th, after the rain, Rece Hinds hit his second homer in as many nights, and Spencer Steer hit a 2-run dinger that same inning. Hinds also hit a double and a triple in the game, and Stephenson added a pair of doubles, crossing home plate to score, 3 times. Hinds, just called up from the minors this week, has made the most of his opportunity, having a 2nd straight incredible night, and he’s now forever in the record books, as the first player in major-league history to ever get 5 extra-base hits in his first 2 big-league games.

Hoosier men’s basketball has announced its non-conference schedule for the coming winter season. IU will have 8 non-league home games, but the only one featuring a “power conference” squad will be against South Carolina. Coach Mike Woodson says he expects that schedule to lead IU to long-term success. The Hoosiers will also 3 games in the Bahamas in the “Battle for Atlantis” in late November. Potential opponents there include Arizona, Louisville, and Oklahoma.
Women’s pro basketball has Caitlin Clark, Alyiah Boston, and the Fever back in action today, hosting the Washington Mystics at the Fieldhouse, the game due to tip off just after noon.
