Jill Eileen Banning Taylor

Jill Eileen Banning Taylor was born the daughter of Keith and Ruth Kirschbaum Banning on July 29, 1950 in Connersville, Indiana. On Wednesday, June 24, 2020, Jill died at IU Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis at the age of 69.

Jill graduated from the former Brookville High School in 1968. While at BHS, Jill was active in multiple clubs holding officer positions in all. She served as class treasurer for four years. Jill also served as vice president of the Student Council in her junior year and as president of Student Council in her senior year. After graduation from BHS, Jill studied mathematics and psychology at Marian University in Indianapolis and at IU in Bloomington.

After completing her studies, she moved to Minneapolis, MN, and worked for Dayton Hudson in market analysis. Later Jill returned to Brookville and worked at Xerox in Cincinnati and then at J&J in Brookville. Jill was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church and loved doing needle work, reading, and spending time with her family.

Jill leaves behind three siblings: Jana Rae Fettig of Frisco, TX, Terry Banning of Jacksonville, FL, and Mickey O’Connor of Carmel, IN; eight nieces and nephews: Rebecca Fox ( Brendan), Chris Fettig (Tammy), Rachel Torres, Patty Brantley (Cameron), Bill Banning (Britney), Nichole Janney (Ted), Scott Banning (Kelly), and Katie O’Connor (Jill’s God-daughter); great-nieces and great-nephews: Nola Fox, Althea and Keith Fettig, Mackenzie (T.J.) Spruill, Bill, Braden, Browdy Banning, Travis Ried (Corie), Bryce and Zack Janney, Brett, Ryan, and Gracie Banning; two great-great-nephews: Bently and Mason Spruill; two aunts: Joyce White and Faye Hofer; and numerous cousins. Jill was preceded in death by her parents, a brother-in-law, Jack O’Connor, and special friend, Bill Knox.

A private family graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 27th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Michael’s Cemetery in Brookville. A Celebration of Jill’s Life will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Jill Banning Taylor Scholarship Fund at the Franklin County Community Foundation or to the charity of your choice.
