Jewel Horning – Connersville

Jewel Horning, of Connersville, was born on March 23, 1945 in Connersville, a daughter to Lewel and Mae Hunter Carey.  She married Terry Horning on April 17, 1980 and he preceded her in death on July 1, 2018.  Jewel worked in manufacturing in at CW Ellis in Indianapolis for almost 30 years.  She enjoyed her two dogs and shopping at Wal-Mart, but especially loved spending time with her family and grandkids.  On Wednesday, January 1, 2020 at the age of 74, she passed away at her residence.

 

Those surviving who will honor Jewel’s memory include her sons, Randall (Vicky) Pollitt of Liberty, and James Pollitt of Connersville; step-children, Betty McCloud, Allan (Norma) Hicks, Jimmy Hicks, and Glen (Sharon) Hicks; grandchildren, Anthony (Brittney) Pollitt, Heather (Chris) Louden, Randall Pollitt, Emily (Matt) Snyder, Dustin (Marci) Reece, Crystal (Dustin) Adams, Bill (Stacy) Reed, and several others; many great-grandchildren; one brother, Delbert (Karen) Carey of Connersville; one sister, Wendy (Ronald) Evans of Connersville, and several nieces and nephews.  Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a step-daughter, Alice Coyle; a step-son, Michael Horning, and two brothers, Leon and Allen Ray Carey, and a niece, Deborah Carey.

 

Friends may visit with Jewel’s family on Monday, January 6, 2020 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Cook Rosenberger Funeral Home, 929 Main Street, Brookville.  Services will begin at 1 p.m. with burial following in Maple Grove Cemetery.
