(Jennings County, IN) – Police in Jennings County are looking to solve a cold case.
The body of 27-year-old Joseph T. Gill of North Vernon was found alongside State Road 3 near the Jennings/Decatur County line nearly two years ago.
Investigators say Gill was walking south along the road in the dark on the morning of September 30, 2021, when he was struck and killed by a vehicle traveling in the same direction.
Despite conducting interviews, analyzing nearby surveillance camera footage, and poring over electronic data from the area between North Vernon and Westport, neither a driver nor a vehicle has been identified.
Investigators are asking anyone with any piece of information, no matter how small, to contact them.
They are specifically looking for someone who saw anything unusual that morning or may have information about the vehicle or its driver.
