Jennings Co. Jail Commander Held in Ripley County Following Near-Crash

(Jennings County, IN) – The Jennings County Jail Commander is under arrest and being held in the Ripley County Jail after allegedly nearly crashing head-on into a deputy.

A social media post from the Jennings County Sheriff’s Office indicates a deputy was patrolling U.S. 50 near Butlerville when a passenger van crossed the center line and nearly hit his patrol vehicle head-on.

The deputy stopped the van and inside was Jennings County Jail Commander Natasha Goins.

That deputy says he noticed signs of alcohol impairment and called Indiana State Police troopers, who took over the investigation.

Goins was arrested and booked into the Ripley County Jail.

The Jennings County Sheriff’s Office says Goins will be placed on unpaid administrative leave pending termination upon her release from jail.
